Integrated devices for atom interferometry and microgravity applications
Atom chips provide a robust, fast and miniaturized platform to produce and manipulate ultracold atoms and Bose-Einstein condensates. These features make atom chips a promising platform for cold atom technology, such as miniature atomic clocks and sensors based on atom interferometry.
We are a partner in the CATS project to explore the feasibility of integrated atom interferometers using atom chip technology.
Our group also provides the atom chip devices and know-how to the QUANTUS project, which has led to the demonstration of Bose-Einstein condensation in microgravity.
