Symposium "Facets of quantum physics at ENS" - 16 novembre 2010
Vendredi 29 juin à 11h30 Bibliothèque du LKB Jussieu Séminaire du groupe optique quantique : Warwick Bowen, University of Otago, Nouvelle Zélande Applications of techniques in quantum optics : ultrahigh Q microresonators and quantum imaging The field of quantum optics has progressed phenomenally in the past two decades, both in the sophistication of experimental techniques, and in our understanding of the implications of the quantised nature of light. In this talk I will (...)
On the interaction of a charge with a thin plasma sheet
Michael Bordag (Université de Leipzig) Jeudi 7 juin 2007 à 14h Abstract : The interaction of the electromagnetic field with a two dimensional plasma sheet intended to describe the pi-electrons of a carbon nano-tube or a $C_60$ molecule is investigated. By integrating out first the displacement field of the plasma or first the electromagnetic field different representations for quantities like the Casimir energy are derived which are shown to be consistent with one another. Starting from (...)
